oof it's tragic that for beatrice being saved is the same as being stopped, but it's the only hope she has, the miracle she spins her roulette for. and 'not a single member of this horrible family deserves anything the family has done to them' is a particularly tragic phrase, because they are the family, they're doing this to each other and themselves, but the family's more than them, and they're all at the mercy of it.
