"I know this one," Nandor said, with an exuberance that made Guillermo's heart sink. "It's al-a-kam," he said, with such pride; he gestured toward's Guillermo's sandwich which would have been tasty had Guillermo had anything to put in it; "Alakam," Nandor repeated, obviously proud.

"Almuerzo," Guillermo said softly; he touched Nando's hand, trying to temper the disappointment, but the vampire pulled away.

"Stupid language," Nandor said; "Why did you have to change it, it was perfectly good!" and Guillermo raised an eyebrow and moved on to the next word.
