Truth to be told, when Susan had put on the ring she hadn’t meant to immediately end up embroiled in royal conspiracy, but she knew herself well enough to know that this was not something she could just ignore or let go.
So she and the man (Syrio) got the girl (Arya) out of the city and into a safe-house (Syrio knew people, luckily, because in this Susan would be no help at all), no matter how much she protested that she wanted to come along (Susan would not let a child get unnecessarily hurt if she could help it, even though a part of her screamed at the hypocrisy), and then the work truly began.
As Syrio once again fought multiple men at once while she covered with her bow – Rescuing Arya’s father and sister would take more than just the two of them, after all, and rousing up allies not only took time, but it was also dangerous – Susan saw not only Edmund’s grace and Lucy’s speed in him, but also Peter’s stalwart defence of what was right, and she reflected that perhaps she was meant to be here after all.
