The four of them agreed that as fine as the Lady Goldberry was, she had met a perfect match in Mr. Bombadil, or perhaps it was that as fine a catch as Mr. Bombadil was, he had met a match in the Lady Goldberry. They were, after all, hobbits, and they had seen his hospitality; here, they would say, is one who carries with him rest and good food, even into those places where others might fear to go. To a Hobbit, there can be no clearer endorsement of a person's worth and bravery.
