English magic, the Pevensie kings and queens of Narnia will learn over the years following their return, is far more subtle than Narnian magic. It feels the same sometimes--a hint of something deeper than deep, the whisper of a lion's roar carried on the wind, the feeling of being fully surrounded--it is just far harder to see if you are not looking for it. But they do find it: Edmund finds it at a tiny used bookstore, Susan in the back room of a seamstress' shop, Peter in the coffee shop where he goes to study, and Lucy in the woods she escapes to when her mother isn't watching.
