One moment they are hiding from Mrs. Beaver deep in Lantern Waste (and if the trees begin to feel a little too soft and hairy, and it is suddenly much warmer than it was before- they don’t notice) the next they come tumbling out of a wardrobe and into an almost empty room.

The only other occupant of the room, a tall white haired man wearing odd clothes, blinks at them, and then smiles and says: “I did wonder if you would come back. I see you’ve brought some friends.”

There is a silence as the Faun, Wolf, Lion and girl stare at him, and then- “You mean to tell me,” Jadis begins incredulously, “that Tumnus was telling the truth?!”
