Poor Susan is only a preteen and there is just so little she can do. I respect that the books almost pointedly never wanted to linger on the trauma they MUST have gone through in the fight with the White Witch (and... lots of other stuff, really), but man, did it leave a goldmine of opportunity for the fic writers for angst.

Also, I almost didn't add that last line because I wasn't sure if it felt necessary, but I really wanted to finish that repetition of about the dialogue about breathing. Glad it works though!
