Good goddess, we could be related. My own grandmother's maiden name was also Stewart, on my mother's side. This is the Stewarts of Kentucky family -- Knott County-- deep Appalachia folk. Albert Stewart, the Appalachian poet, is in the family tree. I didn't know anything about them until the mid-90s. I'd assumed that side of the family spontaneously appeared in Detroit in WW2 but the Stewart family's roots are deep in that part of the US.
