They're awkward with actual feelings and taciturn by nature, so hearing the words, reciprocated no less, overwhelms both Jyn and Cassian too much to utter them to one another again too often or carelessly.

But Jyn hears it every morning, when he comes to her door so they can walk to the mess for breakfast, their steps easily falling in sync.

And Cassian knows she feels the same way, from the way she does not flinch when their hands drift together and twine, not caring who sees them as they go.
