Naruto startled, then settled down close against Sasuke's side; he didn't have any words to offer - the world had seemed much smaller then, and much less confusing - but wrapping his arm around Sasuke comfortingly; he could, at least, be here.
Sakura shifted at Sasuke's other side, settling across his lap and cupping his face, looking fearlessly into his eyes. "Do you really, darling?" she asked, glancing at Naruto with a faint smile, then back to Sasuke. "I remember when we were thirteen; it was not. . ." she fell silent as Sasuke reached up, fingers brushing her lips.
"No, not really," Sasuke admitted with a sigh, "I do sometimes wish being so very sure of myself . . . but I would not give up what we have now for the surety I had then; nor give up the second chance I was given for another shot at the goals I had to give up."
