She has been waiting her entire life for a Prince to ride in on a white horse and seize her from the unassuming crowd of extras, and declare her to be the special Princess--no matter what gender that Prince may be. It is about being valued, being special, being seen.

"You're beautiful," says the Prince of Ohtori Academy, his long purple hair caressing his neck, and Wakaba smiles, pretending that she and him both don't know how ill-fitting the Rose Bride dress is on her slender frame. A prince is a prince is a prince, even if the princess is only an understudy.
