Oh dear, they're both so emotional and have no outlet for it and no idea how to handle it. And knowing Qui-Gon, he is probably NOT being very helpful. I like that Obi-Wan realizes very quickly not only what he's truly upset about, but that she must be upset about something more than he knows, and of course her reason for being upset is so, so painful and raw. Neither of them have anywhere else to go, or any other outlet but each other. Somehow, this is all Palpatine's fault, surely.
