I'd be curious which Rx diets they recommend. There are several -- Purina, Hill's and Royal Canin all have ultra-allergen free lines. They are all super expensive, with the Royal Canin Ultramino being the most dear. And we're not sure if it even is an allergy. We're sure it's NOT many other things given extensive ultrasound, xrays and blood work. He appears to be responding to Baytril? Maybe? And he's stable on boiled chicken and rice. What was very unusual -- so much so that they referred it to their inhouse veterinary staff -- is that the Hill's I/D -- which is supposed to be substitutable for chicken and rice started the bloody diarrhea all over again. I'm not buying into fad diets and novel proteins. Those have a way of being associated, in another year or two after their introduction, with dead dogs.
