Veronica hears Betty talk about how Cheryl Blossom is a total bitch, but even though she's only been in Riverdale a few weeks at this point and barely knows her, she already knows she can't agree.

Back at her old high school she was the Cheryl, the girl everyone looked up to and yet feared, the best at the cutting put down, the one everyone walked beside, half a step behind, the safest place to be.

And yet she was also the one hiding behind her facade, hiding her insecurities, the truth behind her fractured family relationships, and she recognises herself in Cheryl now, sees the truth behind the front she puts up.
