Man oh man, I love this so much. I love the ritual itself--how it seems so Narnian, and how the words have the same echoes of their coronation and their titles, and yet it never actually mentions Narnia, so much so that they can do it still in England. And it's not necessarily inappropriate for our world, but it's also just not quite right, is it? (And Edmund, I adore that parenthetical with Edmund, the way I will always latch onto and adore any introspection he has about it). So that last line really cinches it, how the other-ness of it is evident even to her, and how they're really doing it as a tribute to Narnia, even if--especially because--they're not there.
