The eager young space cadet nodded so hard and fast that the built-on antenna on his space-cap wobbled as he saluted and stammered “Oh indubibibi— induddititib— without a doubt, sir, why if you hadn’t activated the super-ultra-disintegrator-ray right when the Martian deployed his ultra-super-disintegrator-gun, why he might have vaporized the ship!”

The stranded pair turned back to stare at the smoking crater that used to be their spaceship, and Duck Dodgers cleared his throat, “That just shows to go ya, eager young space cadet, that a hero always needs a backup plan — how are you at hot-wiring Martian hot-rods?”
