Greek Mythology - Orpheus/Eurydice

He looks too early, and she falls away, but she doesn't leave him.

He hears Eurydice whisper in his ear to keep hope whenever he despairs, but she is never truly there.

Still: on the darkest of nights, he stares hard at the doorway, willing her ghost to cross his path.
