Fill: Kingdom Hearts, Axel/Roxas

Axel never has cold hands. The fire he controls keeps him warm, dancing just under his skin as they walk through the streets of Twilight Town. The temperature has dipped some but it's not bitterly cold, just blustery enough that Roxas is only a little jealous of Axel's ability to be his own space heater. The Organization uniform is warm enough.

A gust of wind whistles down the alleyway and Roxas backtracks on his opinions as a chill cuts through him. Now he wishes he could heat himself up better. He doesn't say anything about it though, instead keeping up with the conversation.

"And then, I dunno, we could could go to the beach, since we finished our mission so early," Axel says with a shrug.

Roxas shakes his head. "In this weather? It's probably frozen over."

"Is it?" he asks, running a hand through his hair and glancing around, like he'll be able to see the temperature. "Feels fine to me!"

"Well, it's not," Roxas explains, rubbing his hands together. The gloves aren't doing much to help with the chill in the wind. "I'd like to go back early-"

Axel looks horrified and cuts him off. "Early? No way! We've gotta at least get ice cream."

"In the cold?"

"It's not like it'll make you more cold..."

Roxas can't help but laugh. "That's not exactly convincing me, you know."

"What, do you want me to hold your hands instead? I could probably warm you up," Axel says, and Roxas can't figure out if he's teasing or not. If he's being serious, he could use the warmth, but...

Axel grabs one of his hands before Roxas can make a move, and warmth flows through him. Roxas grips his hand back tentatively, something new and strangely wonderful, and lets Axel drag him up the clock tower for their traditional sea salt ice cream.
