YES! Absolutely! Oh there are terrible takes on Susan, and some wonderful ones too. You are right in views of Susan being an absolute bellweather. I have many, many thoughts on this. Also, like 1.5 million words of fanfic on it. woops. But you are so correct -- the books even tell us Aslan is here and there job is to try and find him here and that's what Susan does. she does what she's told to do and should not be criticized for it. And it's just not fair to compare poor England during WW2 to Narnia -- which, by the way, surely had been very difficult in the immediate aftermath of Jadis. It's just wholly unfair comparisons and there are wonderful things in this world too and surely Narnia, more than anything, prepared them to appreciate it!
