I actually like Quark a lot, and one thing I’ve noticed is that, being a lying scoundrel himself, he seems hyper-aware of how dangerous Garak really is. I mean, everyone on DS9 knows the “simple tailor” act is bullshit, but Quark can’t even look at Garak without wondering where the bodies are hidden. And it’s not that they don’t like each other, because they do. But Quark likes an awful lot of very dangerous people, come to think of it.
