"So now that you're awake and I am certain you are not going to die," Riza says above him, and he startles, opening his eyes to find her sitting at the edge of the bed he is resting in - hers? - her eyes soft with concern despite her cool tone and sharp words, "could I impose upon you to explain?"
Roy opens his mouth, wincing, then closes it and tentatively shifts - triggering a weak coughing fit - to lean his cheek against her thigh; Riza frowns at him, but only wipes the blood from his mouth with a gentle touch and then lets her hand settle in his hair.
