Oh god. I went through this with Syrena_of_the_lake who is also from that part of the world. You see my husband has 80 first cousins in Minnesota from a very large Irish Catholic family that was in St Paul and have since migrated to Minneapolis and elsewhere. I start panicking if someone from there pops up as an imaginary friend. We go there at Christmas so yes, let's see about getting together!! I will make a point of going to Bylery's for their soup while I'm there. (Also see my response to Petra above the glories of Wild Rice Hot Dish). I could go on for hours about MN food.

And... damn I forget the name of it. I used to work at 50th South 6th street a long time ago and there was one of those salad soup places in the atrium with breadsticks and wild rice soup....
