So, Remix reveals are up!! I got three amazing stories from 3 of my favorite writers, WingedFlight, [personal profile] edenfalling , and [personal profile] syrena_of_the_lake

For the main exchange, Winged gave me the hilarious remix of the llamas on the lam.  Winged is so wry and clever and she just nails this story.

Alpaca Bag (the wayward llamas remix) (1055 words) by WingedFlight

Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings

Summary:

Come now Gentle Beasts and Birds, Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve, that might you hear the Tale of the Wayward Llamas. Stop and listen that you may also know of Flax the Brave and her mate Shadow, and how a Wrong Turn led to the Rescue of a Queen. Harken to me now.

And for remix madness,

Follow the Story (One Queen, Bearing Gifts) (1826 words) by Elizabeth Culmer

This is gorgeous.  I love how Liz gives the Star's daughter so much agency in her journey and choices.  It's lovely.

And then Syrena wrote a veritable tear-jerker with Jalur and the Cub.

Tiger burning bright (The "Acceptance of the Terms" Remix) (772 words) by Syrena_of_the_lake

I wrote 2 stories and Adaese guessed the first one and so she gets a ficlet!!! So let me know what you would like!!

The Peculiar Case Of The Man With The Missing Soul (the Turn! Turn! Turn! remix) (8651 words) by rthstewart
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Elementary (TV), Chalion Saga - Lois McMaster Bujold
Rating: General Audiences

Characters: Joan Watson (Elementary), Sherlock Holmes, Ms. Hudson (Elementary)
Additional Tags: Crossovers & Fandom Fusions, Alternate Universe - Modern Setting, Alternate Universe - Modern with Magic, The Bastard - Freeform, Case Fic, Character of Faith, Canon Trans Character
Summary:At first, Curtis Atherton's death appeared a simple suicide. Of course, nothing is simple when the Bastard is involved.  Sherlock Holmes, Doctor Joan Watson, and Ms. Hudson, Acolyte of the Bastard, are on the case.

I loved writing this story and really appreciated [personal profile] heliopausa for her help and her and Metonomia's beta assistance. It was a case fic, and long, which made it hard but the story, originally written for me at Yuletide, begged for expansion.

The second story was for the Lizzie Bennett Diaries and my thanks to [personal profile] syrena_of_the_lake  for the beta assistance. My recipient really liked it and I really enjoyed trying to write Darcy during the Netherfield arc. He's a fundamentally decent person but also an arrogant jerk so it was a challenge to balance the two.

clouds in my coffee (the diamond in the rough is looking so sparkly remix) (2296 words) by rthstewart
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Lizzie Bennet Diaries
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Lizzie Bennet/William Darcy
Characters: Lizzie Bennet, William Darcy, Bing Lee, Caroline Lee, Jane Bennet
Additional Tags: Netherfield Arc
Summary:The thing about living with someone for an entire month who you are otherwise attempting to exorcise from your existence is that you learn all manner of things about her you could have gone your whole life without learning.

Elizabeth, having rather expected to affront him, was amazed at his gallantry; but there was a mixture of sweetness and archness in her manner which made it difficult for her to affront anybody; and Darcy had never been so bewitched by any woman as he was by her. He really believed, that were it not for the inferiority of her connections, he should be in some danger.
Pride and Prejudice, Chapter 10, by Jane Austen

You anons are amazing and wonderful and I thank you. I so wanted to get to do some remixes for you all but I'm in the midst of traveling and it wasn't to be. But wow, I've received, besides the wonderful llama story, a heartbreaking remix of Jalur's farewell and a gorgeous variation on my story of Lucy and the Star's daughter.  They are below.  Wow.  I'm so happy.  Thank you.

I do, btw,  have 2 stories up in the remix.  I'm a little bit... concerned about one of them.  Ah well.  No matter.  I have three glorious remixes and I'm delighted.

For [livejournal.com profile] min023 , [livejournal.com profile] elouise82 , and LoTL (also, a while ago, Syrena asked for some of this too,

Aravis, the Rat, the Boy, and the Trickster, with added Jalur.  As I'd had multiple requests for Aravis, I combined this into a couple of pieces.  None even come close to being 100 words.  Aravis takes some getting used to, and alters even over the course of this short piece.  I should have mentioned that my earlier Trickster piece is here.  Also wondering how I managed so many typos.  I've corrected a few of them.  Jalur is more talkative than usual, and really, Lady Willa is the hero of the piece.  Aravis is very much a work in progress -- I've not written her before and this is a good opportunity to start feeling out the character arc that I might explore some day.

What did Lady Aravis think he was, a Talking Cheetah?  )
And of course, my thoughts and prayers go out to those impacted by the day's events.

This is for E who asked for a very specific fic for her birthday. Two things, no, three.

First, it’s Harold and Morgan, sort of, which means that if you don’t like that part of the story, best to move along.
Second, this answers the questions Peter and Susan asked themselves at the end of AW Chapter 8, which means there are spoilers for what happened in Narnia after the departure of the Four!!  It's all been hinted at since the very beginning of the story and is, in fact, a really critical part of my twisty vision of Narnia.  However, I've never spelled it out and so here it is, all in black and white.  This is how Harold & Morgan, Not A Romance, would end.
Third, it’s sad. I always feel like an idiot when I say this, but I cried when I wrote some of this and you know, embarrassing much since I wrote it?

You can thank or curse [livejournal.com profile] snacky for telling me to post this when I started to get cold feet and for helping me with typos.
Happy Birthday E and thank you for your research and support and thoughtful reviews. I suppose this might be fic of fic, and maybe AU of the overall vision, but by how much, I'm not saying.

Title: Acceptance Of The Terms
From T.S. Eliot, "If you haven't the strength to impose your own terms upon life, you must accept the terms it offers you."
About 4,700 words
The first hard freeze of the Narnian winter was coming. Jalur could feel it in his bones in a way that he had not felt before.  )
